MCDC honored 20 new graduates during ceremonies held on November 29 at the center. Graduate Michael Lee opened graduation ceremonies by leading the pledge to the flag, and graduate Kelvin McCloud gave the graduate welcome. Graduate speaker Carmen Colon, spoke about the many things she learned as a student at MCDC and how the structure at the center changed her life for the best. Center Director Tom Zender gave closing remarks. MCDC’s choir, under the direction of Lonnie Williams, performed two numbers, including the Mariah Carey song, “And I.” During that song, graduates thanked family members, friends and fellow students for their help in accomplishing their goals, and said their final good byes as they prepared to leave the center and pursue new goals.
