The MCDC campus is located in a scenic, rural setting. You will be assigned a dorm room on your first day on center, and will have four to six roommates, depending on availability of rooms. Student responsibilities include keeping your living area clean. Each day your room/dorm will be inspected for cleanliness. Each night you are assigned a detail task to ensure the cleanliness of your dorm.
You will receive an allowance, starting at $25, every two weeks, beginning the first week you are on center. Allowance increases are given every three months. New students receive $25 the first week they are on center, but don't get paid again for three weeks. Thereafter, pay day is every other Tuesday.
Please refer to the Student Benefits page for more details.
Counseling
During your stay at MCDC there may be times when you will need to speak with someone about different problems that you have. Being able to cope with concerns and make sound plans of action to deal effectively with these concerns are necessary to enjoy a successful life.
Counselors are skilled at helping people do just that. Because we want you to achieve success in life and cope with your concerns, a counselor will be assigned to you during your first week on center. Counselors are assigned by counsel clusters and are located in each dorm. Counselors are available to see students during lunch, after class and by appointment.
