MCDC won fourth place for the development of the commons area aroud the new gazebo in the center of campus.
MCDC won second place in the community service category and fourth place for on-center projects in the annual Region 2 Career Technical Skills Training competition. Twenty Job Corps centers from throughout Region 2 competed.
MCDC won second place and a cash prize of $10,000 for its involvement in the construction of a Habitat for Humanity house in Central City, Ky. The winning on-center project was the development of a commons area around the new gazebo. The commons area includes a sprinkler system installed by the plumbing class.
This is the second time that MCDC has placed in the annual competition. Two years ago, MCDC won first place and a prize of $15,000 for the development of a student store in the recreation building.
