The Brick Masonry skill is structured to prepare you for profitable work as a masonry worker. Because of the current trend in building construction there are many positions available for sutdents entering the job market from this skill.

What will I learn?
You will learn basic employability skills to help you obtain and retain a job in this vocational skill area. You also will learn to identify and use masonry tools used in your trade and about safety issues involved with use of these tools; how to operate saws necessary for cutting brick and stone; how to mix and spread mortar; how to tool and rake joints; how to use levels, transits and rods; and other skills associated with this trade.

What kind of job will I be able to get?
Job titles include laborer, brick layer, block layer and concrete laborer.

How much will I earn?
Wages range from $5.50 to $10 per hour. Some contractors pay by brick or block laid, which means that the faster you work the more you earn.
